Over 130 Nobel laureates are appealing to the international community to “rebuild Ukraine as quickly as possible with the frozen funds of the Russian Central Bank following a peace agreement and to compensate the victims of the war”. Their petition was handed over in Kiev to Oleksandra Matvychuk, head of the “Center for Civil Liberties” organization, which received the Nobel Peace Prize in 2022. The petition can be viewed here.
The PDF of the appeal is available for download here.
“The use of the funds may require new regulations and laws that are appropriate and must be amended in light of the undeniable emergency and gross violations of international law,” the Nobel laureates continue to write. “The goal is to end the war, establish a just peace and give Ukraine a perspective for the future.”
